Preschool students and parents had a great time during their Block Party.
Third grade students attended the McHenry County Ag Expo at the fairgrounds in Woodstock. They learned about various crops, animals, machinery, and careers. Many of the volunteers were former students and members of our community.
Girl Scout Troop 1982 generously donated cookies for all the staff of the District.
The PBIS reward for the month of March was open gym. Students were able to participate in a variety of activities in the gyms and enjoyed some popsicles too.
Locust students received bags of books from Bernie's Books today. Student enjoyed looking through their books and trading with friends. Thank you Bernie's!
The First Graders celebrated the 120th Day of School by doing center activities that focused on the number 120. They had a BLAST!
Kindergarten celebrated the 100th Day of School by doing various fun activities while focusing on the number 100. They especially loved dressing up like 100 year olds!

MASEF, the Marengo Area Schools Education Foundation, sponsored a Little Painters event after school. Second grade students completed a directed painting on canvas and had some pizza too. A special thanks to members of the MCHS National Honor Society who volunteered to help!
This week, our third graders helped our kindergarteners first graders vote on their choice for the Monarch Award winner during library time with Mrs. Polnow!
Farm Day is so much fun!

🐷🐴🐓🐑🐮Tomorrow 2/20 is FARM DAY! And we can't wait!! 🐷🐴🐓🐑🐮But, please be sure your child wears a warm coat and boots to farm day and brings a plastic bag to school for our muddy boots. Thanks for your help!
Third graders had a great time visiting the McHenry County Historical Society Museum in Union. This tied in with the novel study of "Farmer Boy" by Laura Ingalls Wilder. It also ties in with the Locust School Farm Day which takes place on Friday, February 20th.
Locust students and staff had a great time at our Fun Run. Thanks to all who donated and came out to cheer us on! Your support means the world to us!

Students at Locust Elementary and Grant Intermediate made Valentine Cards for our senior citizens who are in nursing homes. This program is sponsored by Senators Syverson and Wilcox. We will be bringing Valentines to our local residents of Florence Nursing Home in Marengo
