October's PBIS reward was Glow in the Dark Day. This reward is always a favorite way to celebrate Locust students' positive behavior! A special thank you to CEPTA for providing the glow sticks.

Thanks to all the families and staff that came out for McScare Night and supported cePTA.

Such a fun night at Locust Fall Fest! A big big thank you to all the families, students and staff who donate their time and efforts to make this happen! Families were able to have fun as they walked through a spooky bus, bravely made their way though the haunted hallway and of course, all of our wonderful families who set up the best trunks for trunk or treating! Here are just a few pics from the night.

Here's something to hoot about! Kindergarten students learned about owls during a special presentation by Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab & Education.

So grateful to the Marengo Union Fire Rescue for coming to talk with our PreK and Kindergarten classes about fire safety during Fire Prevention Week.

Class of 1975 came to visit

Our students were greeted by many MCHS athletes as part of Homecoming Weekend.

Some of the many MCHS alumni that work for District 165 gathered for a picture before the Homecoming Parade.

Locust students had 'oodles' of fun on Noodle Day, our September PBIS reward day on Sept. 26th. There was drumming with noodles, noodle necklaces, noodle games and a noodle run! So fun! We are looking forward to Glow in the Dark Day for our October reward!

2nd grade students had a great time on their field trip to Royal Oaks Apple Orchard on 9/24.

Our preschool students had a blast in the PBIS Noodle Run today! 🏃 Their excitement and energy made the event so much fun to watch—way to go, little runners!

Tomorrow 9/19 is the last day to turn in your fundraiser! Thank you for helping out our students of District 165!

More photos from Mr. Freeze

Locust students celebrated the beginning of the school year with a trip to Mr. Freeze as part of our PBIS program. Students who exhibit positive behavior throughout the month earn special rewards. These rewards would not be possible without the funds provided by cePTA.

Welcome to our new staff members!
We are ready for a great school year.

Home Depot arrived in orange to help put the finishing touches on Locust School by washing windows and assembling new classroom furniture!!

Monday morning they started clearing out the playground for the new one. Today they are already starting to put up the new swings. We can't wait for the new playground for 2025/2026 school year.

Congratulations to Alex and Evan on Perfect Attendance!
